Scrotal Lymphangioma in an Adult: A Rare Case Report

Scrotal lymphangiomas are rare benign lesions arising from congenital malformations of the lymphatic system. They typically present as painless scrotal swelling and are often misdiagnosed as a hydrocele or other scrotal pathologies. These lesions are non-encapsulated and result from failure of lymphatic drainage due to sequestrated lymphatic channels, leading to progressive dilation and formation of multiloculated cystic masses. We report a case of a 24-year-old male presenting with a painless left-sided scrotal swelling. Ultrasonography revealed multiple dilated cystic lesions suggestive of lymphatic malformation. Complete surgical excision was performed, and histopathological examination confirmed benign cystic lymphangioma of the scrotum. However, recurrence remains a concern, especially following incomplete removal, emphasising the need for meticulous and thorough surgical resection.
