Stress Management Strategies and the Counterproductive Work Behaviours of Nurses in Secondary Health Care Facilities in Rivers State: A Narrative Review

Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between stress management strategies and the counterproductive work behaviour among nurses in secondary health care facilities in River’s state. The study employed a narrative approach which is a qualitative research method. Findings of the study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the two variables. The study also showcased the negative effect that stress had on employees work behaviours and how it can be managed. Counterproductive work behaviours like violence and bullying are serious concerns in healthcare setting Therefore, stress management is proffered as an alternative strategy to curbing the effect of counterproductive work behaviours in employees.
