The goal of this review paper is discussing about freshwater fish diversity and its bionomics in Sundarban delta. Also about the a brief description of study area (Sundarban) encompassing definition of a mangrove ecosystem, importance of mangrove ecosystem, area and distribution of Sundarban; Indian Sundarban – area, location, fisheries related activities; importance of studying fish diversity. And try to generate a data base on some of the life history parameters and their conservation status and atlast study threats associated with fish diversity measures for sustainable fishery.
