Remarks on the Significance of Pentaquark Classification

The notion of pentaquark was coined about thirty years ago. During the progress of time the original meaning of pentaquark has been extended and now it is used for describing particles that belong to several distinct classes. The objective of this work is to arrange pentaquarks in four classes according to their experimentally confirmed physical properties and the corresponding theoretical basis that is used for explaining their structure.
