A field experiment was conducted during the Kharif season of 2025 at the Farm Section of the Department of Agronomy, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, to evaluate the response of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) genotypes to conventional and modified paired-row planting geometries. The experiment was laid out in a split-plot design with three replications and twelve treatment combinations. Four genotypes, Suvarn Soya (G1), PDKV Amba (G2), MAUS-162 (G3) and MAUS-158 (G4), were assigned to the main plots, while three row spacings, 45 × 5 cm (S1), 30-60 × 5 cm (S2) and 45-90 × 5 cm (S3), were assigned to the subplots. The soil was clayey and slightly alkaline, and the crop received 1068.4 mm rainfall over 45 rainy days. Among the genotypes, PDKV Amba recorded superior growth and yield attributes, including plant height, branches per plant, dry matter, chlorophyll content, pods plant-1 and seeds pod-1. It also produced the highest seed yield (1821 kg ha-1), straw yield (2090 kg ha-1) and harvest index (46.47%). Among spacings, 30-60 × 5 cm produced the highest seed yield (1829 kg ha-1), straw yield (2166 kg ha-1) and harvest index (45.71%). The results indicate that PDKV Amba with 30-60 × 5 cm paired-row spacing was the most suitable treatment combination under the experimental conditions.
