Abstract

Background: Aggressive periodontitis (AP) is a rapidly progressing periodontitis occurring in clinically healthy individuals, primarily characterized by rapid attachment loss, bone destruction that occurs early in life and familial aggregation.  Although it is a risk factor for peri-implantitis, the documented survival rate of implants in delayed placement protocol is 97.8%. Case Presentation: This case report describes a multi-disciplinary approach in managing a case of AP with early implant placement and guided bone regeneration for an overall rehabilitation with one year follow up. Conclusion: The outcomes of this case report indicate successful osseointegration of implants placed by early placement protocol with guided regeneration in aggressive periodontitis.
