Abstract

Coronal fractures of the permanent dentition are the most common type of dental damage. Certain injury types fall under the category of endodontic emergencies and demand immediate intervention. If the original tooth fragment is retained after fracture, the natural tooth structures can be reattached utilising adhesive techniques. Fiber-reinforced composite root canal posts have been developed and used to allow for the aesthetic reattachment of the crown.  This case report describes a clinical procedure for reattachment of the coronal fragment of a maxillary central incisor after trauma using direct fiber-reinforced post systems.
