Refining the Submean Inequality for Subharmonic Functions

Asare-Tuah Anton & Prempeh Edward · Journal of Advances in Mathematics and Computer Science · 2015

It is known that the composition of a convex, increasing functional with a subharmonic function is subharmonic. In this paper we show that the composition of a superquadratic functional with a subharmonic function is subharmonic, with a sharper submean inequality. It is further d...

A Refinement of Jensen's Inequality via Superquadratic Functions

Asare-Tuah Anton & Prempeh Edward · Journal of Advances in Mathematics and Computer Science · 2015

We establish the inequality where  is superquadratic and prove a more general inequality where 1/2n and 2n -1/2n are replaced by a/2n and b/2n respectively, with a+b=2n ,n ∈ N, the latter is extended to the case where a+b ≠ 2n , n ∈  N.
